At Pawsh Pet auPairs, we believe that peace of mind begins long before the first walk, cuddle, or overnight stay. That’s why we require a meet and greet with every new client. It’s more than a formality—it’s the first step in building a trusting, lasting relationship with both you and your beloved pet.

A Safe Introduction for Your Pet

Tami, Founder of Pawsh Pet auPairs, meets a golden retriever at the meet and greet.

Every animal deserves the chance to get comfortable with someone new in a safe, familiar environment—with their favorite human right there by their side. Pets experience the world through their senses, especially smell, so we take the time to let them get to know our scent, voice, and energy. This helps reduce stress and builds trust so that when you’re away, your pet feels secure and cared for.

Building Rapport—One Wag or Purr at a Time

Whether it’s a dog’s enthusiastic tail wag or a cat’s cautious curiosity, the meet and greet gives us space to connect at their pace. We learn their personality, quirks, and comfort zones. For shy or anxious pets, this first introduction is invaluable—it reassures them that we’re friends, not strangers.

The Practical Side of the Meet & Greet: Learning the Routine

While your pet is warming up to us, we’re also getting to know the nuts and bolts of their care. During the meet and greet, we’ll walk through important details together:

  • How to access your home securely

  • Where to find leashes, harnesses, and collars

  • Locations of food, treats, and water bowls

  • Medication instructions (if needed)

  • Your pet’s daily routine—walk times, play preferences, nap habits, and bedtime rituals

These small details make a big difference. By learning your pet’s normal routine, we can mirror the care and structure they’re used to, making our visits feel like an extension of your own love and attention.

Peace of Mind for You—and Your Pet

Our meet and greet process isn’t just about logistics. It’s about giving you the reassurance that your pets are in caring, capable hands. By the time we complete this first step, you’ll know who we are, how we work, and—most importantly—that your pets feel comfortable with us.

At Pawsh Pet auPairs, every relationship begins with a handshake for you and a sniff test for your pet. Because when they approve, everyone rests easier.
